Hijama (Cupping) And Detoxification of The Body

Hijama (Cupping) and the Benefits of Detoxing for Fitness and Health

It seems to be a little disgusting when you are detoxing or cleansing yourself form toxins. Your body shows some signs that you have built up toxins. These toxins can affect your whole body fitness and health.

There are times that you feel sluggish and feel the stressful. Your body may experience continuous aching, diarrhea, constipation, and feeling of clumsiness. Rapid weight gain and the incapacity to lose the excess weight can also be signs of having toxins in the body.

Moreover, the toxins found in the body are stored as your fat cells. For Americans who are taking the usual American diet, a person may consume 70 trillion garbage cans for each cell. In detoxifying your body and cleaning that unwanted garbage in your cells, you should pay attention on your elimination organs.

There are particular organs in the body that are responsible for cell waste management. These organs play a major role in the detoxification process and help for a fit and healthy body.

1. Your liver is the organ that recycles the unwanted chemicals in the body. It sorts out the toxins and places them to the organs for elimination during the process of circulation. The principal elimination organs will back up the liver on where these toxins will be stored and then eliminated.

2. The lymph glands also play an important role in eliminating the toxins. A network of tubing brings out the excess waste of the cells from the body and to the final eliminating organs. The appendix, thymus, tonsil, and spleens are major lymphatic glands that help the major organs of the body in cleansing and detoxing.

3. The kidneys help in the water management of the body. They are the ones that keep the good chemistry of the blood alkaline by eliminating the dissolved acid waste. You can help your kidney to function very well by drinking plenty of water. It is much better if you drink fresh alkaline juices and purified water. You may take ½ ounce of alkaline everyday to see positive results on your body weight.

4. The lungs are the organs that keep the blood air purified. They allow the oxygen to go directly to the bloodstream. It is also responsible in removing waste gases that are found in every cell of the body. Deep breathing and fresh air is very helpful in keeping the lungs healthy and free from toxins. If you are in the urban area, it is recommended that you find an oxygen rich area where you can perform deep breathing.

5. The colon is a solid waste management organ in your body. Medical practitioners have found many peolpe that may have an 80-pound mucus and rubber like solid waste that are found on the walls of the colon. Detoxing and cleaning the colon can be a real tough thing to do. However, having a free waste colon can certainly provide you good benefits of having a clean and healthy body.

Hijama (Cupping) And Detoxification of The Body

Hijam (Cupping) is one of the most effective way to detoxify your body. Despite the fact that the organs mentioned above do their best to detoxify the body yet there is a huge amount of toxins and metabolites that remains in the body and most of them underneath the skin. It is better for healthy persons to have Hijama (Cupping) once in six months to get rid of the remaining toxins from the blood and help the body’s detoxification process.

After going  through Hijama (Cupping) some people might experience signs of detoxification, it is just a transient effect and goes away withing a day or two.

To keep yourself fit and healthy a regular walking exercise is also very helpful. Many diet doctors also suggest that you drink plenty of lemon water. This is an effective way of maintaining a very good circulation and can increase the rate of detoxification inside the body.

Olympians Getting Cupping (Hijama)

Michael Phelps

Michael Phelps

A number of Olympians – including the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time, Michael Phelps – have been photographed with large red circles on their skin.

What are they, and why is everyone suddenly going dotty over them?

The mark of an Olympic athlete, at least at Rio 2016, seems to be a scattering of perfectly round bruises. Swimmers and gymnasts, particularly from Team USA, are among those seen sporting the mysterious dots.

No, not paintballing misadventures or love bites – they are the result of a practice known as “cupping”; an ancient therapy where heated cups are placed on the skin.

So how is ‘cupping’ done?

The technique, which is a form of acupuncture, is done by lighting flammable liquid in a glass cup.

The flame burns away the oxygen in the cup, which creates a vacuum. Once the flame goes out, the vacuum creates suction which sticks the cup to the body.

Along with the drop in temperature, this sucks the skin away from the body and draws blood to the surface. The red spots, which typically last for three or four days, are caused by ruptured capillaries beneath the skin.

Why are some Olympians using it?

Athletes say they are using it to ease aches and pains, and to help with recovery from the physical toil of constant training and competing – although there are no scientifically proven benefits.

TYPES OF ARTHRITIS AND EXERCISE

Exercise and Arthritis

There are around 206 bones in the human body, they hang out in a lot of joints. Knee joints. Hip joints, elbow joints, the joints in your wrists, fingers and the joints in your toes.

Wherever bones meet as a joint there is a rubbery, protective layer called cartilage, that ensures your joints bend smoothly and painlessly. But even cartilage cannot do this tremendous job alone. A thin membrane called the “synovium” provides fluid that lubricates the moving parts of the joint. When the cartilage wears out, the synovium becomes inflamed, the result is generally a case of “osteoarthritis” or “rheumatoid arthritis.”

In osteoarthritis, the cartilage can be eroded so much that bone does rub on bone. This type of arthritis develops gradually over a lifetime as a result of normal wear and tear placed on your joints over the years. Very few people escape some degree of osteoarthritis, though the severity varies a great deal.

As a matter of fact, if you are over the age of 50, you are likely to have at least one joint affected by osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis affects men and women equally and is by far the most common type of arthritis, with almost 16 million Americans in the list.

In rheumatoid arthritis, it is the synovium that gets damaged and is the source of trouble. Doctors and researchers are not absolutely sure what causes it, but most think that rheumatoid arthritis is a disease in which the immune system actually attacks certain tissues in the body, including those that connect the joints and the synovium.

Rheumatoid arthritis begins with swollen, red, stiff, and painful joints, but it may progress until scar tissue forms in the joint or, in extreme cases, until the bones actually fuse together. Almost 75% of the 2 million people with rheumatoid arthritis in the United States are women. The disease can hit as early as teen years.

Exercising Your Prevention Options

Investing a little time in developing a good weight-bearing low-impact exercise and stretching plan can add up to great results when it comes to staving off arthritis pain. Strong muscles help protect the joints from wear and tear, and the movement keeps joints flexible.

That is why the quest for fitness is at hand, even if you are 50 years and over. However, most Americans over 50 are still right where they always were sitting back and watching others jog by. Most of them contend that that is just for people who have been athletic all their life, or some say exercise is for young people and engaging into exercise will do them more harm than good.

There are still some that insist on excusing their selves in exercise routines because they do not just have time or they have less energy than ever before. These are all lame excuses. Hence, it is time to start to get rid of those pains. Start exercising.

Consequently, preventing arthritis is not an exact science, but physicians have discovered a few ways to lower your risk. Here is how:

1. Do not weight around

The single most important measure anyone can take to prevent osteoarthritis of the knee is to lose weight if they are overweight. Extra weight puts extra stress on your knees. If you are 10 pounds overweight, for example, you put 60 pounds per square inch of extra pressure on your knees every time you take a step. That extra pressure can slowly but surely erode the cartilage in your knees, leading to arthritis.

A study has clearly supported the theory that weight loss weighs in on the side of prevention. In the study, overweight women who lost 11 pounds or more over a 10-year period decreased their risk of developing osteoarthritis of the knee by 50%.

2. Stretch those muscles

Any kind of stretching is good as long as you do not bounce, which can lead to a muscle pull. This is according to some of the professors of clinical medicine in New York City.

Try to hold a slow, steady stretch for 15 to 20 seconds, then relax and repeat. It is best to flex up by stretching before any exercise, especially running and walking. But it is also a good idea to stretch each day. Ask your doctor to teach you stretches that focus on potential arthritis trouble spots, such as the knees or the lower back.

3. Walking is always the best exercise

Take a good long walk at least three times a week or participate in a step-aerobics or low-impact exercise routine maximum results. There is no proof that running is bad for the joints, but remember, it may aggravate an injury if you already have one. Just remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program.

The bottom line is that of all the healthful habits, exercise is the most important. This is because people are designed to be active. Hence, it is really important for people to exercise in order to stay healthy and keep those joints free from wear and tear.

Just keep in mind that the unexercised body, even if free from the symptoms of illness or problems like arthritis, is not at its full potential. Hence, start exercising right now!

Hijama (Cupping)  for Effective Weight Loss

USE OF HIJAMA (CUPPING) FOR EFFECTIVE WEIGHT LOSS

In a generation when physical fitness is given topmost attention, people are always on the lookout for the newest and most effective means for weight loss. Hijama or cupping, the method of placing cups and creating suction on certain points on an individual’s body, has been found to be very effective method for weight loss.

Many people may not find the idea of being cut by the surgical blade quite comforting in their quest for weight control. However, the option is there and one can also have Dry Hijama instead of Wet Hijama that can also deliver a control mechanism, enabling the person to manage hunger cravings more successfully in the long run. However, Dry Hijama (cupping) for effective weight loss might take more time than Wet Hijama.

The Skinny on Hijama Weight Loss

It has been found that weight gain is directly related to emotions. Other than physical hunger, people reach for a huge chocolate bar or a big platter of burger and fries because of the sense of comfort derived from food and eating. More often than not, excessive weight gain is an emotional issue, rather than a mere physical one. You may not realize it, but you tend to take in more food whenever you’re stressed, upset, or pressured.

In Hijama, there are specific spots on the body that corresponds to acupuncture points, these spots are linked to certain areas in the body and by stimulating these spots; the person will achieve a greater sense of inner balance. As these points are raised through suction action due to which not only blood circulation is increased and bad blood  is brought on the surface also certain hormones are released throughout the body. These substances work by helping you manage hunger and efficiently control the impulse to overeat.

How Hjijama Induces Weight Loss

Most Hijama Practitioners will target the spots behind the ear when it comes to promoting weight loss. When these points behind the ear are stimulated, endorphin are released in large doses. Endorphin are called the feel-good hormones, and these are also often referred to as natural pain and fever relievers. The release of endorphin is what makes you feel better after an increased level of physical activity, as in the case of a good workout.

These bodily compounds allow the person to experience better relaxation, thus considerably alleviating stress. There is a greater possibility of enhanced weight loss when the patient has already achieved emotional wellness. Endorphin are also released whenever the body experiences low levels of bodily pain, thus they function as a natural pain reliever.

People who undergo even the Wet Hijama, i.e. blood letting through surgical blade or through needles of acupuncture typically experience very minimal or no pain at all, since the spots are slightly different and much larger as against acupuncture points most which are located near nerve endings and muscle tissues. Whether a person undergoes Dry or Wet Hijama in both cases signals are sent to the brain thus promoting the release of endorphin from the pituitary gland.

There are many other points in the body that serve as gateways for better weight management. One of these placements promotes a decrease in an individual’s appetite, while another has the ability to reduce water retention in the body. The Hijama Practitioner may choose a multi-targeted approach, depending on the requirements of the person.

Consulting with a Professional Hijama Therapist

There are a number of Hijama practitioners in existence nowadays, offering a host of services. If you are considering this form treatment for your weight management, make sure that you settle with no less than a trained and professional Hijama therapist. A poorly trained person may not be able to pinpoint the specific meridian points and worse, may cause unnecessary bodily pain and discomfort.

Moreover, your therapist may require an herbal supplement for your treatment, to encourage a longer-term effect. Your sessions need not be maintained for an extensive period; however you may be required to visit your therapist during the entire course of the sessions.

There are other means for losing weight successfully, and this does not include crash dieting and strenuous work outs. If carried out by trained professionals, Hijama can be the answer for effective weight management. While it is far from being a cure-all, it may just be the right weight loss solution for you.

Effective Alternate Treatment For Back Pain

Can Effective Alternate Treatment For Back Pain be found in Alternative Medicine or Alternative Therapies?

Back_PainCome to think of it, a lot of people suffer from back pain these days without finding any cure with orthodox medicine ( I don’t understand why modern medicine is called orthodox medicine), the reason may be incorrect diagnosis or ineffectiveness of the prescribed drug or drugs.

In fact the pain killer or the so called analgesic the was prescribed to you stops working after some time since the body develops a resistance against the medication. This results either increase in the dosage or prescription of another analgesic or an NSAID non-steroidal anti-inflammatory Drug, this sort of becomes a cycle and pain becomes something that people have to live with forever.

However, for many  people who have not been able to obtain an exact diagnosis of their back pain problems, seeking alternative therapies for obtaining relief might be a better choice. But to find the right kind of effective alternate treatment for back pain is a big problem.

Here are some suggestions:

Massage therapy:

The art of massage has been used for years as a tool for relief and relaxation. An experienced masseuse can massage the points of pain in your back, especially if it is caused by a strained muscle. Another way of massage is through the use of cupping or dry hijama. The basic principle is same instead of hand massage vacuum cups are used at certain points creating a suction and lifting the muscles bringing the blood circulation at the point and then a massage action is performed. Wet Hijama is also used where small amount of blood is drained out at certain specific points.

People have been known to attain a state of relaxation and painlessness after undergoing a well executed massage or cupping therapy. Some people also argue that acupuncture or pressure point massage may be more effective than Swedish massage.

Acupuncture:

Acupuncture is also an effective alternate treatment for back pain that has been in existence thousands of year, rooted in ancient civilizations of Asia, acupuncture involves the insertion of needles into specific parts of the body for the purpose of taking away the pain. Acupuncture has been proved to work for chronic pain. It has provided short term relief from back pain for a great deal of people.

Physical therapy and exercise:

Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, you can stretch and exercise your back pain away. Exercise and physical therapy as a whole has been known to work well with chronic back pain sufferers than with acute back pain sufferers. Most back pain sufferers have also found relief from the education of the psycho-social factors of back pain.

Common Principles of Hijama

Common Principles of Hijama

Hijama is based on similar principles as acupuncture or acupressure, the ancient Chinese art of healing. In fact if we look back in the history, the Chinese discovered that there were certain points of the body, which if massaged, punctured, heated or burned, relived pain or had a beneficial effect on certain disorders.

Through the passage of time many such points were discovered and it was found that by the stimulation of widely separated points it was possible to influence the functioning of a specific internal organ. These points were then systematically arranged on the basis of pertaining Organ, over which it was perceived they had an influence.

There is historic evidence of cupping in Egypt and another concept of ‘Leeches’ to suck the blood from the body. It is said that over time the body accumulates different toxins in the blood and hence get out of balance giving way to different diseases.

Hence either by stimulating the body’s self defense mechanism or the vital force or as Chinese call Qi pronounce as Chi the body can eliminate these toxins through normal excretory process or they can be drained out from the body by taking out he so call ‘bad blood’ through cupping or Hijama.

Commonly Hijama is performed at those places that are affected. For example in cases of Stomach problem it should be performed over the stomach, in case of kidney problems it should be performed over the kidney areas at the back, if someone is suffering with liver problem it should be performed on the right side chest above the liver. If someone had a headache it is said that Prophet ﷺ used to suggest Hijama on the head. In many ailments the point ‘Kahil’ is used as an additional point. Prophet ﷺ also had Hijama at this point, it is located between the shoulders at the base of the neck.

However Hijama performed at the indicated points according to acupuncture or acupressure has shown to be quite effective in helping to restore the energy balance thus giving it an important place in Alternative Medicine Therapies.

It is narrated by Ibne Abbass  ؓ  that Prophet ﷺ said the cure is in three things:

  1. Hijama
  2. Honey
  3. Cauterizing with fire (But I stop my followers from using fire)

Heating or burning certain areas of the body is also performed in another Chinese therapy known as ‘Moxibustion’ where in the leaves of moxa plant (artemisia vulgaris) are burned at specific points.

Hijama (Cupping) Therapy in New Jersey

Hijama (Cupping) Therapy in New Jersey

Now You Can Have Hijama – Cupping Therapy in New Jersey (NJ) At Your Home.

We all know that cupping has been around for more than 3000 years now and is still used commonly in Holistic and wellness program regimens. Apart from the holistic healing practitioners, many conventional doctors are also convinced that it is quite efficacious and can benefit in reducing many day to day ailments.

The principles of cupping is also similar like the principles of acupuncture or acupressure, we know that every living being has a life force, or energy, called qi or chi (pronounced “chee”). The healthy state of body is dependent on this energy, when it is balance and moves freely along meridians, the body is in a state of health.

If this energy is blocked or deficient, illness can result. In today’s environment every one suffers from energy disruptions due to the stressful and tense life we are undergoing, the medicines that we take, the chemically treated foods that we eat,  lack of exercise, overeating, and etc produce free radicals in the blood thus making it toxic and harmful, hence creating an imbalance of Qi.

It is believed that Hijama therapy not only cleanses the blood but its application at specific acupressure points causes the brain to release endorphins that play an important role in immune function, pain relief, stress reduction, and slowing the aging process while bringing back the energy balance.

One of the most common sufferings i.e. lower back pain has long been a problem for the modern world that results not only in lost man hours but also causes financial loss both to the individual and to the organization for which he or she works. On top of it the individual also suffers numerous side effects of the medications that are prescribed for it.

Studies have confirmed the benefits of Hijama therapy and Acupressure over physical therapy. In our experience Hijama therapy combined with Acupressure and Reiki energy has given excellent results for many of the ailments. Now you can have Hijama (Cupping) Therapy in New Jersey at your home combined with Acupressure and Reiki if desired. No need to commute and go through the stress of driving and traffic.

RESULTS OF A CONTROLLED TRIAL FOR LOW BACK PAIN AND ACUPRESSURE

Though the trial was conducted primarily for acupressure, it can easily be seen that if acupressure is combined with Hijama or cupping the results could have been much better. The results of the trial are given below.

In February 2006 a randomized controlled trial took place at The National Taiwan University in Taipei.

129 patients with chronic low back pain received acupressure or physical therapy for 1 month. Primary endpoints were self-administered Chinese versions of standard outcome measures for low back pain (Roland and Morris disability questionnaire) at baseline, after treatment, and at 6-month follow-up. After treatment, the mean total Roland and Morris disability questionnaire score was significantly lower in the acupressure group than in the physical therapy group regardless of the difference in absolute score or mean change from baseline.

Compared with physical therapy, acupressure was associated with an 89% reduction in significant disability and that improvement was maintained at 6-month follow-up. Study limitations include a confounding psychological effect of therapy; loss of 15.5% of patients to follow-up at 6 months and effectiveness of any manipulation therapy dependent on the therapist’s technique and experience.

Participants were aged 18 to 81 years. Exclusion criteria were pregnancy and contraindication to acupressure. 64 patients were randomized to acupressure and 65 to physical therapy. Conclusive or inconclusive the results still point towards the undeniable and positive aspects of acupressure and holistic healing.

Difference Between Acupressure and Refloxogy

What is the Difference between acupressure and reflexology?

In acupressure, pressure is given on hands and feet as well as on acupuncture points and on meridian lines covering the whole body.

According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, our body consists of a giant web called the meridian system linking different parts together; its channels making up a comprehensive yet complex body map that supplies qi (vital energy) to every part of the body, assists the distribution of blood and body fluids, maintains the balance between yin and yang elements, and protects the body against disease.

Along these channels, acupoints are the sites through which the qi of the organs and meridians is transported to the body surface. It is generally believed that diseases can be treated when the affected meridians or the affected organs are cleared. Acupuncturists work on these points to regulate corresponding organs or meridians so that the body can return to a state of balance and health.

Acupressure utilizes the same approach of acu-points that are found on the skin and are especially sensitive to bio-electrical impulse in the body and conduct those impulses readily. Acupressure is a kind of oriental massage therapy in which fingers are pressed on  particular acu-points of the body in methodical way to ease aches, pains, tension, fatigue and other symptoms of disease.

People use acupressure for all kinds of reasons and they may want to get relief from specific ailments ranging from acute to more chronic, from physical to emotional. They may present structural problems such as bad necks, backs or poor posture, as well as conditions like menstrual difficulties, skin disorders, digestive problems and migraines or with more psychological issues such as depression or stress.

Reflexology is based on similar ideas of acupuncture, in which there are energy lines linking the hands and feet to various parts of the body. These are longitudinal lines of energy running through the body from feet to the brain  it is also called Zone Therapy. In the west it is called Reflexology.

In Reflexology the meridian lines are different than in acupuncture channels, however it is quite evident that the method obviously has its origin in ancient Chinese therapy. There is strong connection between acupuncture, acupressure and reflexology. They are based on similar ideas. Even the concept of Hijama is based on similar ideas, in Hijama however back points are mostly used since they are easy for the cupping method.

There are more similar methods like Shiatsu massage therapy, burning the body surface at particular spots, placing magnets or crystals at different points, and so on are based on similar ideas, all can be considered meridian therapy, the basic purpose of which is to balance the Qi or Chi whether using acupuncture channel points or meridians, or reflexology points in the hands and feet.

In reflexology the whole body can be treated by working on the reflex areas in the hands and feet.

Simple objects can be used to apply constant pressure when required; such as clothes pegs, metal combs, elastic bands and metal probes, even a pencil or pen can be used to apply pressure to lines in the hands and feet that would then affect the same zone throughout the body.
